Quantum Computing

QuEST for Computing is a programme currently offered to STFC computing apprentices providing additional quantum-related training to complement their standard qualifications. It utilises training developed by the Hartree Centre with foundational modules covering software and control systems and cloud infrastructure alongside quantum-specific theory and practical training.

STFC apprentices receive virtual and in-person delivery including a tour of the National Quantum Computing Centre at Harwell Campus. STFC is developing the in-house delivery so that apprentices from outside of STFC can join. In the meantime, anyone outside of STFC can access the Harwell Modules online and undertake self-directed learning.

We would love to develop our QuEST for Computing offering further and would welcome a discussion with organisations who could support in syllabus development or experiential learning for computing apprentices.

Beginners Guide to Quantum Computing

Do you want to learn about how calculations are performed on quantum computers, with practical examples on simulators and real hardware? In this course, we will talk about some of the most famous quantum algorithms, along with practical tutorials on how to use them.
